# of hours: 4 hour Workshop
# of Staff: 63 Baltimore Lab School teachers
Description: Allyson Ladley Gibson led this Chesapeake Bay Foundation Professional Development Workshop to build confidence in our teachers as outdoor educators and action project leaders. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation staff ran a 1/2 day professional development workshop for our staff. They used the CBF Issues Investigation Framework to facilitate an application session for our staff that ends in action projects (of various kinds, not just restoration). Everything was tied to curriculum, standards, and what our staff already work with. CBF presented lots of options, grant sources, and ways to tie action projects to classroom work. Our students do field experiences with CBF and other Environmental Education providers, and have the inspiration and spark to take action. This workshop helped our teachers feel confident when they share project ideas and logistical details with students.
