Activity: Chesapeake Bay Day began as an annual event sponsored by Baltimore Lab's 8th grade students in Ms. White's Language Arts class. Her students planned the event for different grade levels to learn about the Chesapeake Bay and conservation through activities involving art, science and literature.

Save the Bay Run

High School students Lee W. and Sally C. put their service project into action! Lee and Sally spent several months organizing a run to support the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. The run was a huge success, and we are incredibly proud of the students' drive, maturity and organization demonstrated during this process.
2016-2018
Thanks to Ms. White and the original 8th grade students who shared their love for the Bay, students in every grade level became involved in Chesapeake Bay Day. As enrollment increased at Baltimore Lab School, our Annual Chesapeake Bay Day Celebrations evolved over time into smaller annual celebrations from each division, in order to meet the needs of our special education students.

We Save the Bay! High School students planted 11,798 baby oysters this afternoon on the Fort Carroll Sanctuary reef.
They also initiated a pledge to recommit to using reusable water bottles.

Baltimore Lab School Alum graduates with a B.S. in Environmental Science from Marshall University.

Activity: Marshall University announced that Maddison Davis Hunt is a candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with Honors with a Minor in Integrated Science and Tech.

Teachers: Ms. Parkhurst, Mr. Lawhon Congratulations to Ms. Kideckel and Ms. O'Connor's Lower School classes, as well as High School students, Mitchell B., Frankie F., Natalie F., Justin L., and Zane M.! Their artwork debuted as part of a special exhibition called "Birdland and the Anthropocene" at the Peale Museum in downtown Baltimore. The show was on display and open to the public from October 6 through October 28, 2017. These students worked very hard to create art in response to a workshop they participated in about saving birds from the bright lights and reflective surfaces in many cities around the globe. |

Families of Station North Mini Golf participants attended a celebration and closing reception hosted by Station North Arts & Entertainment.

Lower School students welcomed fall with a trip to the park as a reward for displaying safe, respectful, and responsible behaviors in their first few weeks of school. Students keep track of their whole class earnings to apply them toward a larger Lower School reward.

Rock Climbing Spotlight

BLS Lower School student Josue is really enjoying Rock Climbing each week at Earth Treks with Mrs. Child. Recently, Josue's family joined his Cub Scout Pack for quite the hiking adventure. The group conquered the Billy Goat Trail on the C&O Canal - it's one of the most difficult trails in the East! Josue was one of the leaders of the group. He took his role very seriously and proudly braved the terrain and climbs. Way to go, Josue!
