Background: This action project began in 2013. High school environmental science student, Victor O. looked up the AQI, an index for reporting daily air quality. As per his request, Baltimore Lab School joined the school flag program through the Environmental Protection Agency. Each day, a student looks up the air quality and raises the appropriate colored flag on our flag pole. The flag indicates how clean or polluted our air is each day, and what associated health effects might be a concern for us. Currently, the program is run by 7th grade Advisory students in Ms. Fabian's class.
