OUTDOOR EDUCATION 2017-18. BLS Celebrates Student Leadership!
At the center of our program is the goal to promote a strong sense of confidence and self-esteem within students, empowering and assisting them in realizing their full potential as leaders. When students choose to be a student leader we celebrate ‘involvement’ in the process.
The Baltimore Lab Outdoor Education Student Leadership program offers High School students opportunities to expand their knowledge of Bay issues, improve their planning skills, focus on team building, and learn how to lead others.
The following motivated students earned service learning hours by assisting with Outdoor Education activities.
Sam D.: Lower School Rock Climbing
George W.: Monday Swimming Adventures
Gracie B. & Julia F.: Friday Swimming Adventures
Gracie B., Alexa C., Skylyr P., & Constantine S.: Oyster Cage Building with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF), Baltimore Waterfront Partnership and Ms. Huggins's 8th grade students.
Sutton C., Alexa C., Drew C., Rodney H., Justin L., Nicholas M., & Skylyr P.: Oyster Gardening with CBF.
We encourage students to be lifelong citizen activists, involved not just in today’s issues but prepared to engage in those of tomorrow.
