Congratulations!
Baltimore Lab School has recertified as a Maryland Green School! The Maryland Green School award represents a school-wide commitment to environmental literacy that includes staff, students, and the community.

3rd application Recertifying as a Special Education Green School

*Please take a quick look at the application linked above.  Just take a glance, the application is very long and requires many forms of documentation and details!

Documenting and organizing our green school efforts is a volunteer position and I wanted to inform everyone that Doug Dows and his High School Green Team will be documenting our green school efforts into the future.  I will continue to assist and I hope many others will volunteer!

Have a nice Bay!

Garden News by William J

DO YOU RECOGNIZE THIS BUG?
This bug, seen on milkweed plants in the garden, is a milkweed bug. They are orange and black, look like beetles grown up, and look like aphids when they are little. It is beneficial for the garden because it prevents the milkweeds from taking over the garden.

Yes, but the milkweed will take over the garden unless this bug does some pruning! There is plenty for the monarch butterflies!

“Hello I’m Josh Mace. I’m a freshman at the Baltimore Lab School. Ever since I was a little boy I’ve been drawn to the water, and the animals that make it their home. Through Baltimore Lab School’s partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation I have enjoyed learning more about how I can help the bay! In my spare time I like to take pictures and spend time with my friends and family."
